I was very discouraged playing Sekiro. I like hard games. I LOVE parry mechanics. I’m a huge souls fan (for what it’s worth here). And I wanted nothing more than to love this game. But it just wasn’t clicking. But THEN… I looked up a progression route. And it changed everything. I somehow managed to wonder into areas levels ahead of me at every turn. And I haven’t even delved into the deeper mechanics like consumables or things like firecrackers. But I was doing zero posture damage, regular damage and getting 1-2 shot by everything and was convinced I just wasn’t going to get it. Turns out that when I was on the right path it was a difficult and satisfying experience! (I also cleared things I shouldn’t have before I found Genichiro way later than I should have). Mostly- I too have some issues with the game. Mostly mobs around bosses and constantly having to clear them to try again. And yes, terror. I haven’t beaten a Headless yet and I’m not sure I wan to! But I’m also aware that I’m doing something wrong and I don’t know what it is yet. I’m just happy I was able to put together what was happening and now I get to enjoy a game I was so upset wasn’t clicking with me. Because now it has. Thanks to direction. Still prefer Lies of P. Sue me.
